It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of East Hope Group, a large private enterprise in China, established on December 30, 2010 in Zhundong Economic Development Zone, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang. The first phase of the project, with an annual output of 800,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum, started construction in early 2011 and was put into operation in the same year. The overall plan for the entire East Hope Industrial Park includes 2.4 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, 1.2 million tons of prebaked carbon anodes for aluminum, installed capacity of 2135MW, 2220MW, 10350MW, and 4660MW generator sets, 1.3 million tons of aluminum deep processing, 450,000 tons of industrial silicon, and 100,000 tons of polysilicon projects. Once fully completed, it will form a super-large modern circular economy industrial park integrating coal, aluminum, electricity, carbon, industrial silicon, coal chemical industry, and aluminum deep processing. Xinjiang Hope Aluminum is the core enterprise within it.
