Shenzhen Aerospace Industrial Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shenzhen Institute of Industrial Technology") is a second-level unit directly under China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CASIC), a super-large state-owned high-tech enterprise directly managed by the central government. It was registered and established in October 2016 with a registered capital of 1 billion RMB. The predecessor of Shenzhen Institute of Industrial Technology is Aerospace Science and Industry Shenzhen (Group) Co., Ltd. Since the end of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, in accordance with the strategic layout of CASIC's transformation and upgrading for secondary entrepreneurship, Shenzhen CASIC accelerated its pace of transformation and upgrading, withdrew from the real estate business, and focused on developing high-tech industries. In October 2016, it established Shenzhen Institute of Industrial Technology to achieve asset restructuring. As CASIC's collaborative innovation platform for applied foundations and main platform for international operations, Shenzhen Institute of Industrial Technology focuses on intelligent manufacturing, smart industries, and military-civilian integration industry directions, with key development in equipment manufacturing, information technology, scientific and technological innovation services and other high-tech related businesses. It is committed to building a highland for gathering social intellectual resources and innovation elements, and building an open comprehensive innovation platform for military-civilian integration industries. It currently has 2,500 employees. In 2016, its total assets exceeded 11 billion RMB, and its operating revenue was 11.5 billion RMB.
