China Petroleum Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. (CPECC) was established in 1980 with the approval of the State Council. It is one of the earliest foreign trade companies in China to obtain foreign engineering contracting and labor service cooperation business, and is the largest international petroleum and petrochemical engineering general contractor in China. Its reviewing unit, ENR (Engineering News-Record, USA), awarded the company the International Well-Known Contractor Honor Medal twice in 1996 and 1997.
