It was established in February 2009 through asset restructuring and consolidation of China Construction Beijing Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Construction Shanghai Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Construction Northwest Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Construction Southwest Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Construction Northeast Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., China Construction Southwest Geotechnical Investigation and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and China Municipal Engineering Northwest Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., all subsidiaries of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited. It is currently the largest design and research enterprise group in China, with its office located in the CSCEC Headquarters Building in Beijing.
