Sinosteel Zhengzhou Research Institute of Steel Wire Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sinosteel Steel Wire Products Institute) is located in the National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. It is a research institute in the national steel wire products industry. Founded in 1973, it was originally affiliated with the Ministry of Metallurgy. In July 1999, in accordance with the State Council's unified deployment, it was restructured into a technology-based enterprise, placed under China Sinosteel Group Corporation, becoming its wholly-owned subsidiary. As a central enterprise managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), it is a national high-tech enterprise and the Henan Provincial Steel Wire Products Engineering Technology Center. The institute boasts a team of over 350 scientific and technological talents, covering more than 20 professional disciplines. Among them, there are 17 professor-level senior engineers, 6 experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, and about 100 personnel with senior professional titles, possessing strong technical strength and comprehensive professional configuration. It has more than 2,000 sets of scientific research, testing, and pilot production equipment. The National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Steel Wire Products is a testing center and a provincial key laboratory, recognized as one of the first third-party impartial technical inspection institutions approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ). It is also a grade-A national safety production inspection and testing institution authorized by the State Administration of Work Safety (National Safety Production Zhengzhou Steel Wire Products Testing and Inspection Center). Additionally, it serves as the review department and inspection institution for steel wire rope products authorized by the National Industrial Product Production License Office. The institute is a governing member unit of the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee, a member unit of its Mechanics and Process Performance Sub-committee, a member unit of its Steel Wire and Wire Rod Sub-committee, a vice-chairman unit of its Steel Wire Rope Sub-committee, a deputy leader unit of its Rigging Working Group, and a member unit of its Metallographic Sub-committee. Its testing techniques and methods are at a leading level, having participated in the formulation and revision of multiple national testing standards. It has developed various testing methods and instruments, including determinations for steel wire rope breaking tensile strength, bending fatigue, actual elastic modulus, rotation performance, structural and elastic elongation, oil content, wire torsion, and repeated bending. Currently, its testing projects and scope cover more than 20 industries, with nearly 1,000 testing parameters. In recent years, focusing on key national engineering projects such as high-speed railways, highways, bridges, and steel structures, the institute has made great efforts to expand its testing market and business. In 2018, it completed over 50,000 batches of commissioned testing and inspection, achieving testing performance of 150 million yuan.
