CATARC Intelligent Connected Vehicle Test Center (Hunan) Co., Ltd. was established in December 2020, as a joint venture between China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Hunan Xiangjiang Intelligent Technology Innovation Center Co., Ltd. Its main business includes the operation of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Changsha) Test Area, standard testing and certification for intelligent connected vehicles, research and development verification and third-party evaluation of intelligent connected vehicles, Internet of Vehicles information security, construction of smart projects, research and development of generic technologies, and industry consulting.
Since its establishment, the company has actively served national strategies and local industrial development, undertaking functions such as the preparation of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Hunan) and serving as the provincial-level third-party management agency for intelligent connected vehicle road testing in Hunan Province. It has become an important part of the intelligent connected vehicle industry chain in Hunan Province.
At present, the company has built a founding team of 30 people and is expected to reach 100 people by 2023. In the next two years, based on the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Changsha) Test Area, the company will build three basic test platforms: closed, semi-closed, and open road test areas, and establish four major laboratories: intelligent connected vehicle complete vehicle laboratory, intelligent connected components laboratory, V2X connected communication and information security laboratory, and intelligent vehicle virtual simulation laboratory. In 2023, it will complete the construction of the National Inspection Center and become a testing center based in Hunan, radiating to South China, East China, and Central China.
