It has developed into a comprehensive, research-oriented think tank and technical practice institution focusing on urban renewal and "three-old" transformation, integrating urban and rural planning, data surveying and mapping, smart city, land management and utilization, architectural design, historical and cultural protection, industrial research and planning, project consulting, subject and policy research. Since its transformation in 2016, Guangzhou Renewal Institute has participated in research on urban renewal policies, mechanisms, processes, and related subjects in Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Shanwei, Sanya in Hainan Province, and Huangshi in Hubei Province, with achievements receiving over 70 awards at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, including 17 national, 14 provincial, and 40 municipal awards. Meanwhile, Guangzhou Renewal Institute actively engages in smart city construction, deeply participating in the MOHURD CIM pilot program, completing the data foundation for urban information modeling covering 1,250 square kilometers of built-up areas in Guangzhou, and its series of achievements and professional strength have received widespread attention and recognition.
