Youyan Silicon

Youyan Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Youyan Semiconductor) was established in 1999 by the General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals of Beijing, based on its National Engineering Research Center for Semiconductor Materials. Youyan Semiconductor is currently one of the largest important bases in China with international advanced level for research, development, and production of monocrystalline silicon, germanium, and compound semiconductor materials. In August 2018, Youyan Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. and Dezhou Economic and Technological Development Zone Jingtai Investment Co., Ltd. jointly invested to establish Shandong Youyan Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan. The "Large-Scale Production Project for Silicon Materials for Integrated Circuits" implemented by Shandong Youyan Semiconductor mainly produces 8-inch and 12-inch silicon wafers and other key national strategic materials. Once operational, the project will help solve China's long-term problem of relying heavily on imports for high-end semiconductor silicon materials, ensuring the healthy and sustainable development of China's integrated circuit industry. After completion, the project will radiate to important electronic information industry bases in China, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Wuxi, and Shijiazhuang. On January 23, 2019, the Shandong Provincial People's Government issued the list of key provincial projects for 2019 (Lu Zheng Zi [2019] No. 19), with "Phase I of the Large-Scale Production Project for Silicon Materials for Integrated Circuits" listed at the top. Shandong Youyan Semiconductor, based in Dezhou's economic development, is committed to becoming a leading domestic technology research and development enterprise. On its future path of construction and growth, the company hopes to deepen cooperation with universities and colleges, establish student training bases, and jointly cultivate well-rounded talents in the semiconductor industry with schools.
