Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College (Guangzhou Industry and Trade Senior Technical School)

Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College, founded in 1958, is a full-time public technician college affiliated with the Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. It has 10,335 full-time students and provides an average of 20,000 person-times of external training annually. The college currently offers 34 major programs across three training levels: intermediate technician, advanced technician, and preparatory technician, with advanced technician and preparatory technician classes accounting for 87.65%. In 2012, the college won the "National Contribution Award for Skilled Talent Cultivation".

In recent years, through in-depth cooperation with more than 300 well-known enterprises, including Johnson Controls (US), York Air Conditioning (US), Car-O-Liner (Sweden), Sinotrans & CSC, and GSK CNC, the college has established a "school-enterprise dual system, work-study integration" education model and a high-skilled talent cultivation model, which was praised by Vice Premier Ma Kai as a "skill talent cultivation model with Chinese characteristics".

In 2015, the college successfully hosted the Guangzhou Invitational Tournament for some events of the WorldSkills Competition, exploring high-skilled talent cultivation approaches together with competitors and experts from 7 countries and regions, including Brazil and Japan. In April of this year, it successfully held the WorldSkills Competition - China Experience Exchange on Skilled Talent Cultivation, conducting in-depth cross-regional and cross-industry exchanges and discussions on skilled talent development from a global perspective.

To date, the college has cultivated 11 national competitors for the WorldSkills Competition, winning 2 silver medals, 2 bronze medals, and 7 merit awards, making it the technical college with the earliest participation, the most participants, and the most awards in China's WorldSkills participation. College students have twice won the first prize in the team category of the National Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition for College Students, accumulating 30 awards including the overall grand prize. Graduates have excellent employment prospects, with most being reserved by enterprises a year in advance, and they are primarily employed in over a hundred large and medium-sized enterprises such as GAC Honda, GAC Toyota, Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, and Guangzhou Metro. The college's effectiveness in cultivating high-skilled talents, especially WorldSkills award winners, has attracted countries such as Bangladesh and Mozambique to visit the college for inspection and seek cooperation. Over the next three years, the college will undertake a training project for 580 people from Bangladesh, further expanding its international influence.
