Shenzhen Bus Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shenzhen Bus Group) was restructured from a former wholly state-owned enterprise and successfully introduced overseas strategic investors. The equity ratio is 55% state-owned shares, 35% held by Kowloon Bus (Shenzhen) Transport Investment Co., Ltd. of Hong Kong, and 10% held by three other shareholders. Shenzhen Bus Group is the bus franchised operation enterprise with the longest history and largest scale in Shenzhen, and is one of the enterprises with the best performance and continuous pursuit of excellence in the domestic public transport industry. Shenzhen Bus Group was the first in the industry to pass ISO9001 quality and 14001 environmental management system certifications, and took the lead in implementing benchmarking management and the excellent performance management model. The Group currently has 6 branch companies, 3 wholly-owned subsidiaries, and 10 equity-participating enterprises. As of the end of 2010, Shenzhen Bus Group had more than 20,000 employees and an annual passenger volume of 951 million person-times, accounting for 47.9% of Shenzhen's regular bus market share. Among public transport enterprises in major cities across the country, Shenzhen Bus Group ranks 6th in number of vehicles and number of routes, 5th in operating mileage and passenger volume, 4th in revenue, and 1st in vehicle-day mileage. The company has successively created multiple industry firsts:
● In 1992, opened the country's first fare-collection-free route;
● In 1993, became the first public transport enterprise in China to implement bus franchised operation;
● In 1996, took the lead in using a non-contact IC card system for public transport in China, leading the reform of the charging model in the national public transport industry;
● In 2004, became the largest and most successfully operated Sino-foreign joint venture public transport enterprise in China;
● In 2010, established the world's first pure electric taxi enterprise as a controlling shareholder.
