Shenyang Sunshine Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunshine Company") was established in 1993, with a business scope covering the research, development, production, and sales of bioengineering products and biochemical drugs, as well as technical services for after-sales products. The company's Chinese name is "San Sheng" (Three Lives), reflecting the founders' aspiration to motivate themselves with the noble belief of "cherishing life, caring for survival, and creating a meaningful existence"; its English name is SUNSHINE, symbolizing "sunshine," embodying the great ideal of Sunshine employees to serve patients with "warmth and enthusiasm like sunshine" and benefit human society. The company is recognized as a High-Tech Enterprise by Shenyang Science and Technology Bureau and Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology. In 1999, it was designated as a National Key High-Tech Enterprise by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and in 2001, it was recognized as a "National High-Tech Research and Development (863) Program Achievement Industrialization Base." The company's production facilities are located in Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 48,000 square meters with a building area of 10,000 square meters, including three workshops for bacterial genetic engineering pharmaceuticals, cell genetic engineering pharmaceuticals, and preparation and packaging. All production workshops have passed the GMP certification of the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). The annual production capacity exceeds 10 million units, establishing the company as a relatively large-scale specialized biopharmaceutical production base in China. To date, the company has completed the development of four genetic engineering products: recombinant human thrombopoietin ("TPIAO," a national Class I new drug), recombinant human erythropoietin ("EPIAO"), recombinant human interferon alfa-2a ("INTEFEN"), and recombinant human interleukin-2 ("INLEUIN"), all of which are on the market and have achieved high market shares. Among them, "EPIAO" has consistently maintained the top position in sales volume and revenue, currently holding a market share of around 40%, making it a leading erythropoietin product with advanced technology, complete specifications, broad indications, and the highest market share. In 2005, the national Class I new drug recombinant human thrombopoietin ("TPIAO") was launched, which is a project under the national "863" Program and a major special topic of the "Tenth Five-Year" plan. Sunshine Company was the first in the world to industrialize this product and maintained a period of exclusive production advantage. The company's research institute possesses strong capabilities in product and technology development, having established an excellent new product research and development system. It has undertaken two National Torch Program projects and one "863" Program project, receiving multiple scientific research awards from national ministries, provincial, and municipal government departments. Currently, the company has six national invention patents either granted or in the process of application.
