China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CNFC") was established in 1964, affiliated with China National Nuclear Corporation, and is an important member unit of China Nuclear Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. (stock code: 601611). The company is a large-scale comprehensive construction and installation enterprise mainly engaged in engineering, nuclear engineering, nuclear power engineering, and industrial and civil construction installation projects.

CNFC possesses five first-class general contracting qualifications for construction, including electric power engineering, petrochemical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, building engineering, and municipal public works, as well as three professional contracting first-class qualifications for nuclear engineering, steel structure engineering, and hoisting equipment installation engineering. It holds the license for manufacturing and installation of civil nuclear safety equipment of the People's Republic of China, licenses for pressure pipeline installation, pressure pipeline component manufacturing, pressure vessel manufacturing, boiler installation, and hoisting machinery installation and maintenance, and the license for installation (repair, testing) of electric power facilities. It also holds the laboratory accreditation certificate of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, the qualification certificate for inspection and testing institutions, and has been recognized by the National Nuclear Safety Administration as the assessment center for welders and welding operators of civil nuclear safety equipment. The company has passed the certification of the integration of informatization and industrialization by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and has obtained certifications for quality management, occupational health and safety management, and environmental management systems. It has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and is a pilot unit for skill level certification registered with both the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and CNNC.

In the field of nuclear power engineering, the company is the first enterprise in China to have both nuclear island and conventional island full-site installation construction performance. It has successively undertaken the first exported nuclear power project of China—the installation project of Phase I of the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant in Pakistan. It also undertook the construction of the large commercial nuclear power plant independently designed and built by China—the Qinshan Phase II Nuclear Power Plant, and won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. It also undertook the construction of the expansion project of Qinshan Phase II. The company organized and implemented the first global AP1000 third-generation nuclear power self-reliance project—the Phase I projects of Sanmen and Haiyang nuclear power plants, the installation project for the conventional islands of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing (Hualong One global first reactor), the installation project of the nuclear island of Unit K2/K3 in Pakistan (the overseas first reactor of Hualong One), and the installation project for the conventional island of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor at Shidaowan. The company became the first in China to implement a general contracting management model for nuclear island construction. It is currently undertaking the installation projects for the nuclear islands of Phase II of Sanmen and Haiyang, the nuclear island installation project of the first section of Phase I of San'ao, the installation projects for the nuclear islands and conventional islands of Units 3 and 4 of Changjiang, the demonstration project of the multi-purpose modular small reactor in Changjiang, the conventional island installation projects for Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Zhangzhou, and the BOP construction and installation projects. The company has capabilities in large module construction with anti-deformation treatment, main equipment lifting and installation, main pipeline installation, narrow-gap automatic welding, automatic plasma welding of air ducts, advanced phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), on-site machining of high-precision large-diameter blind holes in confined spaces, drilling of BOSS heads for Hualong One, transportation, lifting, and installation of large nuclear island equipment and key conventional island equipment such as steam turbines and condensers, and commissioning of conventional island subsystems.

In the non-nuclear engineering field, the company is based in Shanghai, with the "Yangtze River Delta" as its main development base, and expands to regions such as the "Pearl River Delta." It has the general contracting capability for civil engineering and installation construction and has certain social visibility in the fields of petrochemicals, electronics and pharmaceuticals, non-standard manufacturing, and hoisting. In the petrochemical sector, the company participated in the construction of Phases I, II, III, and IV of Shanghai Petrochemical, and has undertaken construction projects of various types including petrochemical and chemical fiber projects across the country. It has built China's first set of Shenhua coal direct liquefaction project, and the Phase I and Phase I expansion storage tank projects of Shanghai Yangshan LNG receiving station. Since entering the low-temperature sector in 1997, it has completed 83 LNG storage tanks and chemical product low-temperature tanks with a total capacity of 8.59 million cubic meters. Currently, it is implementing the construction of 5 LNG storage tanks of 270,000 cubic meters each in Jiangsu Binhai and Guangdong Zhuhai under plan. At present, the company undertakes nearly 60% of the domestic market share in the construction and installation of LNG low-temperature tanks. In the construction sector, its business scope covers housing construction, public buildings, municipal public works, and industrial plants, with general contracting capabilities for civil engineering and installation. The company actively responds to the national strategy of Western Development, continuously expands and deepens its presence in central and western regions such as Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, and Hubei, and participates in the construction of a large number of livelihood and public welfare projects in central and western China with a high sense of social responsibility as a central enterprise, contributing to the development of these regions and establishing good cooperative relations with local governments.

While maintaining traditional advantages, the company closely follows national policies, seizes the historical opportunity of deepening reform of state-owned enterprises, and actively explores transformation and development, with active exploration and practice in operational and business models. The company has won the Luban Prize for China Construction Engineering, the National Quality Engineering Gold and Silver Awards, the China Installation Star, the Shanghai White Magnolia Cup, the Shen'an Cup, and other provincial and ministerial-level quality engineering awards, totaling 172 items. It has accumulated 383 intellectual property rights, obtained 2 national construction methods and 44 provincial and ministerial-level construction methods, won 116 national and provincial science and technology awards, received 4 China Patent Awards, and compiled 52 industry standards.
