China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. (CRBC) is a large state-owned enterprise approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, succeeding the business of China Road and Bridge Group. It is mainly engaged in engineering contracting, construction, design, supervision, consulting, and international trade. The company currently has 5 wholly-owned or holding subsidiaries and 31 overseas offices. The registered capital is 1.1 billion yuan, with total assets of 4 billion yuan. Its predecessor, China Road and Bridge (Group) Corporation, was restructured into China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. (CRBC) on December 8, 2005.
China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. (English abbreviation: CRBC) is one of the four largest state-owned enterprises in China that first entered the international engineering contracting market. It is mainly engaged in domestic and international contracting of highways, bridges, ports, railways, airports, tunnels, hydraulic works, municipal works, and dredging, while also involved in investment, industry, trade, leasing, and services. It has established branches in 45 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, and Europe, forming an efficient and fast-operating business development and management network. It serves as an important carrier, window, and platform for the overseas business of China Communications Construction Corporation. The predecessor of China Road and Bridge was the Foreign Aid Office of the Ministry of Communications. Starting from 1958, it went abroad to undertake the construction of aid projects for the Chinese government. In 1979, the company was formally established and entered the international engineering contracting market. In 2005, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the restructured China Communications Construction Corporation, mainly handling the overseas business of CCCC. It has undertaken the construction of numerous landmark projects with regional and international influence, creating batches of high-quality, durable, and time-honored 'China Roads' and 'China Bridges', and has won numerous domestic and international awards. 'CRBC', as a well-known brand in the international engineering contracting industry, enjoys a world-renowned reputation.
In recent years, actively responding to the national 'Going Global' strategy, China Road and Bridge has innovated and strived to cultivate core competitiveness. It has undertaken high-end projects such as the Tajikistan-Uzbekistan Highway, the Karakoram Highway Rehabilitation Project in Pakistan, the Friendship Port Expansion and Renovation Project in Mauritania, and the Zemun-Borca Bridge in Serbia, using EPC and other high-end methods.
