This laboratory is located at the Ophthalmic Center affiliated with Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, and is one of the laboratories under the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology. The laboratory is led by Professor Xiang Mengqing, a high-level introduced talent of Sun Yat-sen University and doctoral supervisor. It primarily focuses on retinal neurodevelopment, diseases, and regeneration, and is one of the few authoritative laboratories in the field internationally. Research areas focus on mouse animal models (transgenic and gene knockout, etc.), cell fate regulation, transcription factor programming control, signal pathway modulation, stem cell regeneration, and directed differentiation.
