Hunan Zhongda Design Institute Co., Ltd. is a science and technology-oriented survey and design enterprise affiliated with Central South University. It was formed through the merger and restructuring of the former Survey and Design Research Institute of Changsha Railway University and the former Design and Research Institute of Central South University of Technology. Centering on its five major business scopes—survey, design, planning, consulting, and testing—and its four major business segments—transportation, building, geotechnical engineering, and engineering testing—the company has achieved steady development and has become a large comprehensive Grade A survey and design institute with considerable influence and strong competitiveness in the industry. It currently holds qualification certificates issued by the relevant national competent authorities, including Grade A engineering survey; Grade A engineering measurement; Grade A engineering consulting; Grade A engineering cost consulting; Grade A municipal, highway, and architectural design; Grade A urban and rural planning; Grade B railway, metallurgical, building materials, and chemical mining design; and construction engineering quality testing. It has passed certification for the national quality management system, environmental management system, and occupational health and safety management system with high quality, and has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise. The company currently has 5 functional departments, 15 specialized design institutes, and branch offices in Beijing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Fujian, Shenzhen, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, and other locations, with business covering more than 10 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. It now has more than 400 professional and technical personnel of various types, including more than 120 with senior professional titles and more than 130 with intermediate professional titles, as well as more than 150 person-times of national registered architects, registered engineers, registered cost engineers, registered supervision engineers, registered construction engineers, registered urban and rural planners, and registered consulting engineers (investment). Over the past 10 years, it has completed more than 6,000 large and medium-sized engineering survey, design, planning, consulting, and testing projects, including national, provincial, and municipal key projects.
